Financial Aid Policy

AIRA’s financial aid policy has been established for CIRAs, CPAs, attorneys and others who wish to attend AIRA’s courses for CPE or CLE credit or pay renewal notices to keep their AIRA membership current but who are unable to do so because of cost considerations.

Application Procedure

Anyone who wishes to request financial aid must submit a confidential letter communicating the reason for the request to AIRA's Controller. The request will be reviewed and the decision to grant financial aid will be made by the AIRA’s Controller and Executive Director. The Controller will communicate the decision to the applicant and arrange for adjustment or waiver of fees as applicable.

Criteria

Financial aid is typically awarded to anyone having financial difficulty due to unemployment, medical reasons or other hardships.

Fee waivers are generally granted for unemployed professionals and fee reductions are allowed on a sliding scale for professionals with annual incomes of $50,000 or less. The following are guidelines for aid based on income (submission of tax return data or other documentation of income will not be required):

  • Unemployed Full scholarship
  • Income up to $35,000 75% discount
  • Income $35,000 to $50,000 50% discount
  • Income above $50,000 Based on circumstances

For medical and other hardships, the amount of aid will be determined on a case by case basis.

Fee reductions are available for attorneys and others in public service.
