Jerry M. Markowitz is a founding shareholder of Markowitz Ringel Trusty & Hartog in Miami, Florida and a member of the firm’s Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights practice group. Mr. Markowitz’s practice is concentrated in the areas of creditors’ and debtors’ rights, including workouts, bankruptcy, asset recovery, insolvency, receiverships, reorganizations, restructuring, and mediation. He is considered one of South Florida’s leading business and bankruptcy reorganization practitioners and mediators. Mr. Markowitz is listed in the Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA in the bankruptcy and restructuring category, the Top 250 Attorneys in South Florida by the South Florida Legal Guide, Super Lawyers Top 100 Lawyers in Florida by Thomson Reuters, and the Best of the Bar by the South Florida Business Journal. Mr. Markowitz was also recognized by Florida Trend’s Hall of Fame for being recognized named in their Florida Legal Elite list for the past ten years.

Mr. Markowitz is active in the community and he is a member of the Florida Bar, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the American Bar Association (Sections of Business Law, Business Bankruptcy Committee and Commercial Financial Services Committee), the Continuing Legal Education Committee for the University of Miami Bankruptcy Skills Workshop (chairman and co-chairman), and he is a member of, and a former president of, the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida. Mr. Markowitz is also the past president of the University of Miami School of Law Alumni Association.

As an active member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Mr. Markowitz is a member of the Board of Directors and regional chair for the ABI Endowment, and was Co-Chair of the ABI Mediation Committee. Mr. Markowitz was on the ABI Caribbean Conference advisory board and has previously served as a former co-chair of the Southeastern Bankruptcy Conference in 2011 and 2012.

Mr. Markowitz participated in the American Bankruptcy Institute/St. John’s University School of Law’s mediation training program in December 2013 and has been a teacher for the past six years. He is a certified mediator in Florida.

No refunds will be given for cancellations received less than 3 days prior to a webinar. Substitutions are allowed with written notice at least 3 days in advance of the webinar.
