Rob Poppiti is a partner in the Bankruptcy and Restructuring group at Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP in Wilmington, Delaware.  His practice focuses on representing debtors, lenders, ad hoc groups and official committees in connection with chapter 11 proceedings.  He also represents foreign representatives in chapter 15 proceedings, and advises clients in connection with out-of-court restructurings and liquidations. 

His current and past debtor representations include:  Novation Companies; PLx Pharma; Permian Tank & Manufacturing; Suitable Technologies; Marsh Supermarkets; Vestis Retail Group; RCS Capital and Cetera Financial Group; Haggen Holdings; Trump Entertainment Resorts; Kodak; Perkins & Marie Callender’s; Smurfit-Stone; Heartland Publications; and Building Materials Holding Corporation.  Rob currently serves as Delaware counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the FTX chapter 11 cases.

While in law school, Rob was a Copy Editor for the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law, and a judicial extern for the Honorable Myron T. Steele, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Delaware.  Prior to attending law school, Rob interned for the University of Delaware’s John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance, and served as a teaching assistant for Professor Charles M. Elson’s Advanced Corporate Governance class.  Rob is a member of the planning committee and past chair for the Meals On Wheels Delaware Annual Cellar Masters’ Wine Auction & Dinner.

In the 2015 Spring Issue of the AIRA’s Journal, Rob co-authored an article entitled “International Shipments: When ‘Received by the Debtor’ Under Section 503(b)(9) of the Bankruptcy Code Might Not Mean Physical Possession.”

Rob is admitted to practice in Delaware, New York and the District of Columbia.
