The panel will discuss Ponzi Schemes and other investment frauds. We will discuss the original scheme of Charles Ponzi from 1920 along with recent trends and cases involving Ponzi schemes. The panel will discuss forensic issues associated with how to identify and unravel investment schemes including the efforts of federal receivers to pursue recoveries on behalf of victims. We will also review clawback litigation and other claims against victims and participants that may have made a profit in these cases, and the defenses to these claims.
